Dr. Lisa Barker is Director of Education at Jump Simulation and Clinical Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.
Dr. Barker chairs the Jump Return on Investment (ROI) Committee, a multi-disciplinary group of healthcare system professionals with representation from Finance, Healthcare Analytics, Performance Improvement and Education in addition to Jump Simulation. This committee has implemented a model for demonstrating the quantifiable value of key simulation-based programs to the system.
Dr. Barker chairs the Jump Educational Programs Committee which is charged with the review and quality assurance of all simulation-based education that occurs at Jump. In that role she has created a rating matrix to identify areas of excellence and opportunity in the simulation-based educational programs proposed. It is also used to provide feedback and promote development of simulation educators as well as characterize Jump’s overall educational portfolio.
Dr. Barker is an emergency physician by training and directed the simulation program for the UICOMP Emergency Medicine Residency for the 10 years prior to her current role. She has also served as faculty for multiple regional, national and international conferences, including the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare and the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine.
