Curriculum Submission Process

PLEASE PLAN 3-4 MONTHS IN ADVANCE OF EVENT FROM CURRICULUM SUBMISSION TO APPROVAL

Note: The below instructions are for OSF HealthCare and University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria staff and faculty. If you are an external organization and have interest in hosting curriculum at Jump, or have any questions about the submission process, please Contact Us.

Part One (curriculum) Document Submission

  1. Download and open the Jump Curriculum (Part One) template

  2. Complete the Curriculum (Part One) template and “Save As” to your computer

  3. Upload Curriculum (Part One) document to the Jump Curriculum Submission Library when ready for review

    • Click on the following link – Jump Curriculum Submission Library

    • Click upload on toolbar at top of library

    • Click upload document (cannot upload multiple documents)

    • Browse and attach your Curriculum (Part One) document

    • Click "Ok"

    • Window will appear in which you can type in the title of your curriculum. Title of curriculum should be your department-title of curriculum (ex. Learning Academy-Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

    • Indicate in drop down box what type of document- Part One

    • Click "Check In"

  4. If not completed with the Curriculum (Part One) document, please complete Multiple Session Map (MSM) separately

  5. Upload MSM to the Jump Curriculum Submission Library; check in as a “curriculum supporting document”

  6. Will receive feedback from Curriculum (Part One) document within 2 week time frame; if not, please contact Curriculum Development Coordinator

  7. After the Curriculum (Part One) document has been screened, you may submit Session (Part Two) document(s) for review

Part Two (session) Document Submission

  1. Download and open the Jump Session (Part Two) template

  2. Complete the Session (Part Two) template and “Save As” to your computer

  3. Upload the Session (Part Two) document(s) to the Jump Curriculum Submission Library when ready for review

    • Click on the following link – Jump Curriculum Submission Library

    • Click upload on toolbar at top of library

    • Click upload document (cannot upload multiple documents)

    • Browse and attach your Session (Part Two) document

    • Click "Ok"

    • Window will appear in which you can type in the title of your curriculum. Please refer to library and copy exact title of curriculum, then paste to title area in window. If your curriculum titles do not match, the document will not go to the same curriculum.

    • Indicate in drop down box what type of document- Part Two

    • Click "Check In"

You will complete the above process for each Session (Part Two) document or session supporting document you submit.

Curriculum Approval Process

The Jump Curriculum Committee meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday.  Curriculum document and 2 session documents must be uploaded by the 1st Thursday to guarantee review
 
Curricula are reviewed and rated using the Curriculum Rating Matrix (download). The following minimum ratings are required for approval:

  • Educational Rationale: L1

  • Institutional Alignment: L1

  • Goals, Objectives and Assessment Methods: L2

  • Resource Alignment: L2

  • Measured Educational Outcome(s):L1

After approval of curriculum, you may schedule an event.

A Simulation Specialist will contact you 4 weeks prior to your event to discuss equipment, simulations and any other needs.  If you have not been contacted by the above stated time, please contact the Simulation Supervisor, Kristi Sanders- Kristina.L.Sanders@jumpsimulation.org.

DUE TO TIME REQUIRED TO PROPERLY PREPARE FOR SIMULATION EVENTS, ALL SESSIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF EVENT, OTHERWISE WILL BE SUBJECT TO RESCHEDULING

To make Edits to curriculum documents

  • Right Click on document that you would like to edit

  • Click "Check Out"

  • Double Click on Document

  • Make needed edits

  • Click Save and computer will ask you if you want to check in

  • Click "Check In"
